The juvenile justice system was made to help developing, both mentally and emotionally children. Research has shown that the adolescent brain is not fully matured, in areas related to decision-making and understanding consequences. As a result, juveniles are more easy to change compared to adults.

The goal is to provide young people with the support and resources needed they need to learn from their mistakes and become members of society.
